I Am Thankful

Times are rough right now, but I'm especially thankful for Mia & Dominic. They have both offered to help and I will need their assistance to get through these tough times. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Mike & Vanessa joining us at Mom & Dad's.

Fire Danger Gone - Hooray!

Yesterday was a little scary around here. All day I could see the flames of a fire that had started on the other side of the freeway. We weren't in imminent danger unless the winds changed, but that was enough to keep me home all day. Instead of cleaning house & doing laundry I played with pictures again. Here's our Halloween decorations & some pictures from my annual visit to Oak Glen. Don't you just love the "John Lennon" jack-o-lantern made by Dominic?

A Sad Day

Yesterday a wonderful man, husband, father, friend, coach and mentor took his last breath. Mitchell "Mike" Kekich passed away in Albuquerque surrounded by his loved ones. I first met him in 1972 and he has been like a second father to me along with many other lucky people. He lived a wonderful life, raised wonderful children and was married to the same lovely woman for more than 50 years. He will be sorely missed, but never, never forgotten. Dominic's Birthday Present

He's always been a music fan, but now that he's taking guitar lessons, (since January) he has great respect for the "Guitar Heros" of our time. Since Carlos Santana was appearing in concert the day after his birthday I couldn't resist buying him tickets as a present. We had a GREAT night!

September Birthdays

Mia's was the 20th and Dominic's the 27th. Lots of fun, lots of presents & lots of cake!

The Fair!

On Wednesday, the 24th all of the District Managers & the office went to the LA County Fair. What a great place!

Mother's Picnic

Well, Sunday the 21st was the 13th annual Mother's Picnic, and what a lot of work to put it together! This year it was at Bonelli Park in San Dimas & the weather was perfect! Here's a bunch of us posing at the Main Entrance before we opened up. (I'm 2nd from the right), and here's a shot of Dominic playing in a volleyball tournament. There was tons of great food, fun games and prizes for everyone.

Sarah's Wedding

My adorable niece, Sarah Ann, was married on Saturday to Christopher Udink in a beautiful ceremony aboard the yacht destiny. At the request of her mother, I will not post any pictures of her family.

Last night was Alissa's engagement party where I was finally able to meet Chris' parents. They are both even more wonderful than I thought that they would be! There is no doubt as to why Chris has turned out so well! Here's a picture of them along with the rest of us at her party.
